Hopefully this brief overview will help you to decide if servicing your VCR will be cost effective.

If you decide you want to have me repair your VCR. Please contact me before shipping it to me so I can watch for it.

NOTE: Some Betamax VCRs are not going to be repairable. This is usually due to the lack of available replacement parts or technical data Etc. If you e-mail me with the model number and description of the problem. I can try to determine if your VCR is repairable before you send it.

Over $15,000.00 worth of SENCORE and other
Test Equipment ensures your VCR is expertly
 serviced to factory specifications

Mechanical Section
I carefully inspect the drive motors and other
moving parts in your vcr to ensure years of dependable service

Many VCRs have been stored away for years.   This causes the rubber belts, idler wheel tires and pinch rollers to  dry out and become slick and brittle. This is why the tapes won't play and also
why  the machine will  "eat" the tapes. If they work. They won't last long.

"If  it's not good enough for
me  to keep for myself.
I won't sell it."

Power Supply Section

I check the power Supply Section for weak or defective components. Weak, old  or dried out
parts can cause poor quality video and/or loss of power to your VCR

Power Supply will be completely checked
out and old dried out capacitors and
 other components replaced as needed.

Video Section

Using state of the art test equipment
I clean and align the video heads and
the tape path to factory specs.

Video Heads checked and
Aligned using Sony KR5-1V
Professional Alignment
Tape and  Sencore Video
Waveform Analyzer

Your VCR will be completely dissambeled and
all parts and mechanisms inspected.
You will then receive an estimate detailing
the repairs and parts needed.

Above is an example of a typical problem with older Beta VCRs
The belts get old, deformed and brittle. The rubber tires get cracked and
slick from age and no longer grip. This causes the tapes not to play.
It also causes the VCR to "eat" tapes
The old parts are on the right you can see how out of shape they are.

Comments from some of our satisfied customers

Thanks for your help in getting my Sony Beta SL-HF400
VCR going again. I was able to transfer all of my home
movies to DVD. I even sold the VCR on eBay when I was
finished for more than it cost me for the repair!
THANKS! David M.
****
I picked up a Sony Betamax at a yard sale for $20.00 and it did not work.
You were able to repair it for $122.52 and I have been enjoying it.
I see the same model Sony selling for $450.00 + on eBay. THANKS !!

excellent stands behind his vcr great deal! Ron

****

VCR works like new! So nice to see my old beta tapes again!!

****
Thanks for your work on my Beta. I had it repaired at a local shop and it
worked better but still ate my tapes sometimes. You were able to find that the reel
drive motor torque was weak causing the motor to have trouble pulling the
tape back in to the cassettes.  WOW! Great work ! Julie Z.

VHS & BETA tapes are disappearing from the landscape as digital technology rapidly takes over.

But what to do with all those old  home movies you  have of  Aunt Edna at the family reunion in 1983. Or the kid's  little league games! Or That UFO that landed in your back yard New Years Eve 1981 !!

Transferring them to a DVD or your computer and from there to a DVD, is not that difficult. There are plenty of sites on the internet to learn how.

But it all begins with getting the
 best video quality possible.

Make sure you are getting the highest quality video signal you can for your DVD recorder  with one of my high quality CLASSIC VCRs.
